• Certs: ACLS, BLS, Fetal HM - AWOHNN (adv) for L&D, BLS, NRP required for Postpartum.

  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced Labor and Delivery nurse for a travel contract.
    • Job Requirements
    • The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience.
    • Hold an active BLS, ACLS, AWOHNN, NRP and CA License.
      • Schedule Information
      • 12 hr shifts - 7a-7p or 7p-7a.
      • Floor specific orientation: 3 shifts.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • # L&D Beds: 14 beds.
        • # triage beds: 6 triage beds, 2 OR suites.
        • # Postpartum beds: 28 beds.
        • # births per day, per year: 250 births per month.
        • Ratios: 2 to 1 laboring, follow AWOHNN guidelines, 1 to 4 couplet care.
        • FHM System: Fetal Link.
        • EMR: Cerner.
        • Charge Nurse: Yes - they try not to take a patient assignment.
        • Nurse Aides/OB tech: OB tech - yes, day and night shift.
        • Weekend Requirement: every other.
        • Call Requirement: no - may have to be on standby.
        • Holidays: they will work them in with perm staff rotation.
        • Scrub Color: Nurses - navy for PP, ob tech and L&D nurses - seal blue (provided).
        • Tele: Phillips.
        • Vents: No.
        • OB/Neonatologist in house: No but available if needed.
        • IV Team: No.
        • RT 24/7: Yes.
        • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes.
        • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: any gestational age, antepartum, high risk deliveries, substance abuse, pre-eclampsia, insulin dependent diabetics.
        • 7p-7a EOW first to float.
          • Additional Details
          • COVID Vaccine Required.
          • Unit: L&D/PP.
          • C-section experience required: Will be required to circulate for c-sections. Scrubbing experience is preferred.
          • Floating: They will have to float to postpartum, PP will NOT have to float to L&D.
