Experienced L&D/PP Nurse Needed for Travel Contract in California
A hospital in California is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery/Postpartum (L&D/PP) nurse for a travel contract. The ideal candidate will have 2 full years of experience and hold active certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN, and a CA License.

  Shift Information
  
  • 
    
  • 12-hour shifts: 7am-7:30pm, 7pm-7:30am
    
  • Floor-specific orientation: 3 shifts
    
  • Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
    
  • Call requirement: Optional, but preferred

    • Unit: L&D/PP
      
    • L&D beds: 7
      
    • Triage beds: 4 (with 2 overflow beds)
      
    • Postpartum beds: 27 (with a 5-bed nursery)
      
    • Births per day/year: 3/1545
      
    • Ratios: Follow AWOHNN guidelines
      
    • FHM system: FetalLink
      
    • EMR: Cerner
      
    • Vents: No
      
    • IV team: No
      
    • RT 24/7: Yes
      
    • Floating: L&D to postpartum, postpartum to L&D (L&D nurses must have PP experience)
      
    • L&D nurses will also float to NICU for grower/feeders
      
      
      Additional Details
      
      • 
        
      • COVID vaccine required
        
      • Will work holidays with permanent staff (typically one major and one minor)
        
      • Common diagnoses/types of patients: high-risk deliveries, any gestational age, EMT drop-offs, substance abuse - withdrawal, Spanish-speaking patients, no prenatal care, and transfers to UCLA or another facility if necessary
